The Board of Accountancy has issued Resolution 36-2017 that streamlined the conduct of the office visitation required for CPAs in Public Practice applying for accreditation (renewal or initial) as required in BoA resolution 5-2016. The new Resolution delegated the conduct of the office visitation to the Philippine Institute of CPAs (PICPA).
“With this delegation, the required visitation of the office of the CPA will be completed faster. PICPA and its chapters can conduct the visitation and submit the report on the visitation, together with the Checklist and pictures, to PRC within a one week period. This will expedite the processing of the accreditation applications of the CPAs in public practice with the early completion of the BoA requirement for the verification of the functionality of the office and facilities of the practicing CPA,” said BoA Chairman Joel Tan-Torres.
PICPA and BoA will further discuss the details of this procedure.
For the meantime, CPAs in public practice will not need to rush their office visitation since the other newly passed BoA Resolution 37-2017 allows the provisional accreditation of the CPAs until April 30, 2017 that will allow them to proceed with their engagements during the audit and tax filing period while their accreditation application is still pending with the PRC.
